Developed by Occupational Therapist, Fiona Lilley and Speech Language Therapist, Sally Barrable, this resource promotes the skills of auditory and visual association. The activities complement Barbara Brann's 'The Magic Caterpillar's Building Blocks for Literacy Framework'.
The activities provide opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, categorisation skills, verbal reasoning and identifying similarities and differences between a selection of items. Supporting young students to verbalise their thinking is also critical to constructing logical thinking and the necessary oral skills that underpin literacy development.
The items can easily be stored in a clear plastic container for ease of use.
